The wind speed works however the compass function doesnt work
Dont work what more do I need to say ?
its first excellent app for wind speed estimation on iOS devices, Thank you for this wonderful app. Specialist
great idea, love the app. specially for my as i am a golfer. thank you for this fantastic idea
This application has potential, it does a good job it giving me an accurate reading of the wind speed. Would like to see a better design ; )
I live in Key West and use this tool a lot in my everyday sailing activities. I even tried it when driving my scooter. Very entertaining and accurate. Integrated compass comes handy. Graphics is perfect. Definitely worth the price!!!
very funny app and useful for some engineers. Hope to add more function into this app:)
Ok I bought this app thinking this is worth it. But will somebody please tell me how in the heck it works? It only registers about 3 miles an hour and I knot this wind Id harder than that. Any help is appreciated before I delete it.
This is the best wind speed app out there right now.!!!!!!!
hi there hemmy boy i clicked on developer web site they confiermed that this app operates at 4-115 miles per hour soo 3 miles per hour too slow wont read soo i would retry app when big storm comming like in ga we do not usaly average 3 mph soo i will wait before deleting becuase no realy windy storms are around soo it reads 0 mph hi there oh the wind speed apps have too have the microphone pointed in too the wind wind speed is messuared buy the wind noise or wind sound soo yes you have too have your gaget pointed in too the wind and big storm hold on tight too iphone or ipad
The wind sensor does not seem compatible with the iPhone 4. The dual microphone has created a problem. If you point the top microphone into the wind it is facing away from you, or you are blocking the wind. If you point the bottom microphone into the wind the compass reading is reversed. Its time for an update. Also the noise reduction feature of the top microphone maybe a problem.
Just tested it during a wind event in my area. Its my job as a wildland firefighter to know tue wind speed. Im more accurate using visual clues than this app.
Just bought Wind Sensor and tested on iP4. In 20+mph winds, registered 5-7mph. So only off by a factor of 3-4x and 15mph! Not worth buying.
Dont buy it. It doesnt work worth a crap. You may as well flush 2 bucks down the toilet.
Dont buy it. It is very bad
I was in hurricane sandy facing 65 plus mile an hour winds, this app registered 19 miles an hour at its highest. Not even close to accurate. I was on the south facing shore line with no obstructions. The wind was strait off the water.
All you have to do is tell people to point the microphone perpendicular to the wind and this app gives reasonably accurate readings. This is a great app if you tell people how to use it.
Waste of time and money!
For me it shows a wind speed of about 3 mph when I hold it out the window of my car when I am doing 25+. That is not my idea of accuracy. Standing in the middle of a field with the wind at an estimated 8-10 mph, this app showed zero. Nada. Nothing. To be fair, it might work if the phone were not in a protective case, but I am not going to throw a $25 case away to use a $2 app. Sorry guys, I like the concept, but I am taking this app off my phone.
Do not buy this app. It doesnt even work in high winds.
